Where should I use my brand photography?

Female brand photography

If you’ve landed on my website, no doubt you know just how important photography is to a business. Perhaps you might already even have a bank of brand images you’re keen to use. As an entrepreneur, there are countless places where beautiful photography can help you attract customers and improve sales. Every aspect of marketing includes visuals, so what, where and how you use them is key to creating a successful brand and marketing strategy.

Photography showcases your business and is the visual representation of your brand, so quality photography is key.

Elevate your Website

Most of my clients come to me because they would like new images for their website. Your website is your shop window - You can spend a lot of money for a beautiful brand and website, but you can ruin it so quickly without showstopping photography.  On the other hand, you can make a small investment in a Squarespace site, but by using beautiful bespoke brand photography you can elevate your entire brand. Your website is one of the first touchpoints potential clients have with your brand, so it HAS to be good. Utilising your new brand photos on your website is one of the most effective ways to create an instant connection with potential customers, both old and new.

Your About Me Page

Think of your about me page as an opportunity to showcase what makes you brilliantly unique. As with any introduction, first-impressions are key since people make quick assumptions, so the photos you share of your personal brand should reflect your core values and personality.

Pick the top 3 words to describe your brand and make sure your ‘about me’ photo embodies those characteristics - for me, it’s warm, friendly and relaxed.

Update your Social media

The one thing that has helped me up my marketing game has been having a bank of brand photography at my fingertips. All too often I’ll think of a caption before I find the perfect photo - and having loads to choose from can make it so much easier to show up consistently. Start introducing yourself and weaving your new photos onto your social platforms. This can be in posts, stories and reels. Do whatever feels best to you, but don’t overthink it!

Don’t be afraid to mix your new brand photos in with your own ‘less polished’ photos - this shows off a bit of your personality and helps your customers understand what it’s really like to work with you.

Blog Posts

No matter how interesting and useful your blog posts are - without great photography your readers are likely to lose interest. I often use my photography to illustrate blog posts.  A friendly face is a great way to show off your personality and add credibility to your insights.

Marketing Newsletter

If you have a newsletter, adding an imagine of yourself is a sure fire way to increase click through rates and conversions. I recommend adding a call to action at the end with a picture of yourself. - this builds trust and credibility. I know I’m constantly unsubscribing from boring email newsletters, but if it’s a nicely designed email from one of my favourite businesses with beautiful photos, I’ll always have a read.

Pinterest

Pinterest is an amazing way of driving traffic to your website. Think of Pinterest like a search engine and use Canva to create graphics with your brand photography. It’s a competitive space so make sure your posts are both beautiful and useful in order to get noticed.

Welcome leaflets or guides

A pdf welcome guide is a great way to introduce yourself to a potential client and showcase in detail all of the brilliant things you and your business can offer. Adding an image of yourself builds trust and makes your business seem more personable.
