When Sophie and Dan got in touch, I couldn’t believe my luck. As a local blogger and influencer, I have followed Sophie online for YEARS - so I was excited to capture their colourful wedding day. As a wedding photographer, there are certain weddings that just light up your soul, and this one was definitely one of them. Located in the heart of Northamptonshire, Dodmoor House was the perfect backdrop for Sophie and Dan’s day full of love, laughter, and all-round good vibes. It was my kinda day!
A Vibrant Celebration at Dodmoor House
Dodmoor House, a stunning venue in Northamptonshire, is known for its rustic charm - making it a popular choice for couples looking to tie the knot in the midlands. The venue was the PERFECT setting for Sophie + Dan’s Big Day, where every detail was thoughtfully curated and impeccably styled.
The whole day was SO relaxed and joyful. Sophie and Dan were surrounded by their closest friends and family, all of whom were so friendly and welcoming. The energy was infectious, and it was clear that this was going to be a wedding to remember.
The girls got ready at Dodford Grange and I think we can all agree that Sophie’s dress from @laurenalexandrabridal was an absolute dream.
A Day Full of Joy and Laughter
One of the things I love most about wedding photography is capturing those genuine moments of joy and connection - and this wedding was FULL of them. Sophie, Dan and their bridal party brought so much energy and fun to their day, and it was a pleasure to document every smile, laugh, and tears of happiness (of which there were many!)
The ceremony was a beautiful celebration of love, with the couple exchanging heartfelt vows in front of everyone they loved. The joy continued into the reception, where the couple and their guests ate, drank and danced the night away, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Attention to Detail: A Wedding Styled to Perfection
The brief was colourful, and the attention to detail at this wedding was incredible. Every element, from Sophie’s dress to the floral arrangements (with flowers taken from Sophie’s Nanny’s garden), was carefully curated.
One of the standout details of this beautiful day was the stunning stationery by @sweetpeastudio.stationery. The colourful and retro-inspired designs perfectly complemented the joyful atmosphere of the day, including everything from menus and table plans to the order of the day and various signage around the venue. Each piece was a work of art, adding a unique touch that tied all the elements of the wedding together beautifully.
A Feast for the Senses
No wedding is complete without a delicious meal, and as Sophie is a local food blogger, the food on the day certainly didn't disappoint. The wedding breakfast was catered by @chefhathome_, who created a mouthwatering menu that had guests raving. For the evening food, @safskitchen.mk provided loaded fries with butter chicken ( and I can confirm, they were epic!)
Sweet Treats and Dancefloor Fun
The wedding cake, made by @oh.my.cakery, was a true work of art. Not only did it look incredible, but it also tasted divine! As the night went on, the dancefloor came alive with music from @roblawesentertainment, and i’ve never seen a dance floor so full!
Guests also had a blast with the photobooth provided by @pro_pose_entertainment, capturing photos for the guestbook that the couple will treasure forever.
