The Coolest Industrial Wedding Venues in the Midlands for quirky couples

Industrial Wedding Venues in the Midlands

Not long ago, if you were looking to get married in the UK you’d be limited to a country house or barn-style venue (especially if you live in the Northamptonshire area!). However, over the past few years industrial-style wedding venues have become more and more popular - And guess what? These are my favourite venues too (So much so, that I got married in one myself!) So today I thought I’d share some unique venue inspiration to help you on your search for the perfect industrial wedding venue. Bare bricks, wooden floors, beautiful windows and original features make these venues the perfect backdrop for cool and quirky wedding photography - and if you’re thinking of getting married in one, count me in!

1. The Chimney House, Sheffield:

In the heart of Sheffield at The Chimney House, it’s all about that exposed brick magic, wooden beams and vintage vibes. And don’t get me started on those massive windows! This place is the perfect playground for quirky couples like you to snag candid moments and intimate shots.

2. The West Mill, Derby:

Say hello to Derby's West Mill – an old cotton spinning mill turned into a jaw-dropping wedding venue. Think iron columns, original brickwork, and a giant grand staircase. This venue is like a treasure trove of cool angles, with both indoor and outdoor spaces. What’s even better is that you can also BYOB too - AND there’s a cottage onsite for you and your loved ones to stay in.

3. The Pumping House, Nottinghamshire:

Tucked away in the heart of Sherwood Forest, The Pumping House is a hidden gem that balances industrial elegance with natural beauty. The venue showcases exposed brick walls, vaulted ceilings, and original machinery that tell tales of its past life as a water-pumping station. With lush green surroundings and a whole host of original features, this location offers a serene escape for couples seeking a rustic and refined wedding day.

4. Haarlem Mill, Derbyshire:

Haarlem Mill is where I got married, so I couldn’t not include it! Haarlem Mill is an old cotton mill set amongst a more rural backdrop in beautiful Derbyshire. It’s laid over two floors, so you can enjoy your whole day in one place, and has the most beautiful bridal suite which is perfect for bridal prep photography. What’s more, because it has so many great spaces, it’s the perfect winter venue as you don’t need to go outside!

5. Victoria Warehouse, Manchester:

If modern industrial chic is your jam, then say hello to the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester. Exposed brick walls, steel beams - this place is like a photographer's playground. There's so much space to let your creativity run wild, capturing moments that scream joy and love in an environment that's totally out of the ordinary.

For quirky and adventurous couples looking for a beautiful backdrop for their wedding, industrial-style wedding venues in the UK are the way to go. These venues are a goldmine of textures, light, and architectural magic – the perfect recipe for creating wedding photography that tells your love story in the most unique and brilliant way.

If you’re looking for warm and colourful wedding photography, I’d love to help! I specialise in working with kind and friendly couples who are planning their wedding day their way.
